CajunBill got me hooked on that fruit paist made by blackies blend. Its very versitile stuff! You can buy it in bulk also (like a 5 gallon bucket full). You can just about add anything to it to make a different lure/bait.

foxpro is right
trop thats the best way to do it but i use both sod benz and glycerine because sod benz is a presevate and glycerine oil is some times mistaken for preserevate but it's not it's a antifreeze which is needed to keep your bait from freezing. there is a lot better preservative then sb that only takes 1 oz per qt it's a lot better but the cost is higher this ingredent is call methyl parben mix 1 oz per qt

CajunBill, So your saying to what ever fruit you are using that you add methyl parben (1oz per qt) and glycerine? Correct me if I'm wrong. I have never delt with methyl parben. Thanks TROP

Trop: You got it! add the 1oz of methyl parben or sodium Benz (Sodium Benz would be a different measurement)... and then add your glycerin. If you do the following you will have a preserved/antifreezed bait or lure!

when you use methyl parben use 1 oz per qt to your fruit, glands or meat no matter but if you use methyl parben DO NOT ADD sodium Benz as there is no need to.then add your glycerine oil and then yes you have a preserved bait that is 100% freeze proof. meaning the bait can be put in a freezer for a month and it will not FREEZE or leave it out for a year and it will not spoil meaning this is what you want in a bait or lure.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to give methyl parben a shot. Where can I purchase some. Another question I have is why do you prefer methyl parben over the benz. And as you stated above I guess once I add the 1oz of MP it would be OK to add glycerin right after. TROP

http://www.trapperartssupply.com/artscatalog.pdf you can get MP from this place. They got everything you would ever need to make baits and lures! The one stop shop! Either Sodium Benzo or MP would work fine, Ive never used MP but Sodium Benzo works just fine. MP just works better and is about $4 more to a pint that Sodium Benzo is and you can use less of the MP compared to having to use more Sodium Benzo. And assuming your talking about adding sodium Benzo(to fruit paist) yes right after that you can add your glycerine oil.
