would like to find a good pistol (probably revolver) for dispatching critters. think i want it to shoot 22 shorts. its quite and not much of a hole. anybody know any good brands? hoping to find one that doesnt make me miss my mortgage payment. for me it has seemed hard to find any pistols that shoot shorts.

I use a ruger single six new modle and it works great, I kinda gave up the shorts for coyotes thaw I felt I neaded more penitration to be humane. they are about the only critter I have to dispatch so I just use LR, so where you trap maybe shorts are the best choise. Let us know what you decide to go with and good luck out there.

The heritage rough rider is a decent gun also comes with a mag cylinder. Price is around 200. I agree with FUZZ , for me and the coyotes I catch ,the short is not enough. For everything else around here the shorts work fine. good luck. Bill

thanks guys. that gives me somewhere to start lookn. we have few to no coyotes n my area. theres been rumors but thats it. figured shorts are quiter, draw less attention. and i would think make a smaller hole. i dont know if short & LR make the same diameter hole or not

The diamiter would be the exact same but you should get less mess internaly and externily with shorts cause the speed of them is way lower than a LR.

What marbill said. I got mine at Academy for $149.00. They run a sale on them from time to time.

I've got the Taurus Model 94 revolver as well...............SWEET little pistol; handles well and shoots accurately. Perfect for the trap line. Needin' a holster for it, though.
