NO glycerine is not a preservate.
Glycerine Oil - FINEST AVAILABLE. THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT GRADES OF GLYCERINE - KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING! Glycerine is a binder, blender, stabilizer and antifreeze when mixedwith glands (it is not a preservative however as some have claimed). It is mixed with urines to add body and to prevent evaporation when exposed to the air and to prevent freezing.
in stead use salt or this ingredent
Methyl Paraben This is the best preservative I have found. It leaves no taste or odor. Glands and meat will retain original odor. Use 1 oz. to a quart.
note after you have preserved the glands then add glycerine oil to prevent it from freezing as it acts as a antifreeze and when you add other ingredents it will also bind, blender and stabilizer your formula.lure formulas many times has both.
now lets say you want to tincture the rat glands then use this ingredent.
Diethyl Phthalate This is the best solvent for the tincturing of all the white musk, Keystone musk, Ambrette musk, and most synthetic musk. It also works better and faster on ingredients and glands you would normally use propylene glycol for.
