I have some lure i made some years ago and made a lot of it over the years it still works every well but i like a thicker type lure in wet weather is there something i can add to the lure that thicken it up but not change the lure smell to much or any

It depends on what consistency your talking about. If you are wanting a paste I would recommend lanolin. If you looking for something to make it just a little thicker the glycerin would work. Using lanolin would make it like a smear type lure which would work great in wet conditions.

I use a 50/50 mix of Lanolin & Mineral oil....Adding the mineral oil, keeps the lanolin soft enough to smear when the weather turns cold.
All purpose flour or corn meal also works in soaking up & thickening the unwanted liquids without changing the aroma much...You can smell some difference though.

Also try grinding down white rice down to a powder.
